Meet our Governing Body
At The Bishop Harvey Goodwin School, we are very fortunate to have a small, dedicated diverse team of governors who are skilled in their role as supporters and critical friends of the school. We believe that effective school governance is at the centre of a good school, and we do all we can to promote and develop our governors through our work across the school.
Both the Headteacher and myself are committed to continue to raise the standards of education within the school in a creative, stimulating environment which helps our children gain the necessary skills to become happy and fulfilled individuals.
It is essential that all new governors receive an induction pack covering the broad range of issues and topics. By taking on the role of governor there is a commitment to ensure that not only are new governors given the necessary information and support to fulfil their role but that they are able to do so with confidence. This is offered through peer-to-peer discussion, training modules and getting to know the children and the staff. This hopefully helps new Governors to have personal investment in the school, leading to more effective governance and in turn happy, well-educated pupils.
We continue to strive for the best possible education for our pupils, take pride in our community and have confidence that Bishop Harvey Goodwin Primary School is a school of high standards, creativity, friendships and laughter.
Please contact me via the school office if you have any questions or queries.
