A Little Bit of Winter
‘A Little Bit of Winter
20th January 2023
This week we have shared the story of 'A Little Bit of Winter'. We have discussed seasonal changes and how some animals hibernate in Winter. We created some art work of animals that hibernate.
We went on a Winter walk and explored the weather outdoors. We put on our wellies, coats, hats, gloves and scarves and went outside and played in the snow.
We used shovels, rakes, scoops, jugs and sieves to collect up the snow. We then used it to make some mini snowmen using sticks for arms and buttons for eyes and buttons. We also had fun exploring the snow, it was very cold!! We though carefully about how we could stop the snow from melting and placed the snow in different places to find out where it melted the quickest/slowest.
Back inside we thought about the season of 'Winter' and the different things that happen at this time of year such as darker nights, clothes we would wear, what the weather is like, what winter looks like, what happens to the trees, animals and flowers.
