Parents Stay and Read Session- 23rd November 2023
Parents were invited into school this morning to see how we teach reading to the children in school. The children shared with their families some of the phonics games used to teach reading as well as our ‘Talk for Writing’ text ‘Owl Babies’. We enjoyed meeting the real owls that had come to visit us as well as taking part in a phonics session with our families. Thank you to everyone who came into school and took part in this reading session.
Owl Babies: Story Sequencing – 11th October 2023
When sharing the story of 'Owl Babies' we have been learning to sequence the events by ordering the pictures and retelling the story in our own words. We have used our ‘Talk for Writing’ story map to retell the story to our friends. We have been learning to track from left to right, top to bottom with our story telling wands.
