Year 6 and 5 really enjoyed the visit on 20.6.22 from the author Kate Gilby Smith. She shared her interest in science fiction and explained how she started to write after she left university. All her books start with the question 'What will happen if...?'. Her debut 'The Astonishing Future of Alex Nobody' . Children were able to purchase her books to enjoy later.

Author Rebecca Tyson visited school on 24.6.22 to speak to Key Stage 1 and Foundation Stage about her new book 'Flamingo Flockdown'. Rebecca lives in Carlisle and trained as a nursery nurse. Her book addresses the challenges little ones have had to face due to the pandemic. The flamingo friends are a group of characters which each have their own individual personalities and traits. The children are able to buy her book on the day. 

Our favourite author, Frank English, came to visit our school again on Monday 27th June. He led our whole school worship and talked to the children about the process of writing and what it is like to be an author. Then he held workshops for Year 3,4,5 and 6. We especially loved listening to him reading his books. Frank English told us that he loves to write about animals and writing his books with children.
