Planting a special ancient tree for the Jubilee 11th October 2021
The Bishop Harvey Goodwin School was honoured to be chosen to plant a unique ancient woodland tree today to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. It is part of the 69 trees planted across the UK for the Queen's Green Canopy. Our tree is a ' Betula Pendula Zwisters Glorie'. The event was celebrated with the Lord Lieutenant Mrs Claire Hensman and her Deputy Mrs Dianne Shaw, the Mayor Cllr Pam Birks, Leader of CCC Mr Tony Markley, representatives from the diocese and governors. All our children received a pot of three spring bulbs to commemorate and remember this special day.
