TRUST – SUMMER 1
‘My God is my strength in whom I trust.’ Psalm 18:2
Trust is a really important value. It must be earned. If we do not trust someone it is very hard to build a good relationship with them. Trust is the basis of all stable relationships, including a person’s relationship with God. God’s commitment to humanity is seen in his willingness to trust ordinary people to carry out of his purposes through history.
Themes we are exploring include;
On values day, we looked at the story of ‘The Crossing of the Red Sea’.
Faced with the Red Sea in front and the Egyptian army behind, Moses trusted God's command to raise his staff, which parted the sea and allowed the Israelites to cross on dry ground. This event exemplifies trusting God's power and guidance, even when obstacles seem insurmountable.
Classes explored the story by answering VIPERS reading questions. They also created symbols that speak of God’s trustworthiness.
